(Acronym for beginnars all purpose symmbolic instruction code)high-level computer programing language, developed 1964 originally designed to take advantage of multiuser systems(which can be sued by many people at the same time). The language is relatively easy to lewrn and is popular among micro computer users. It has subsequently been the basis for new ofr new languages such as Visual Basic
Binary number code based on the binery number system used to represent instructions and data in all moderen digital computers for example in the ASCII code system used by the most micro computers the cappital letter A is represented by the bynari number 01000001.
Because bynary numbers use only the digits 0 and 1,they can be represented by any device that can exist in two different states. In a digital computer several different two-state devices are used to store or transmit binary number codes-for examples circuit which may or not may net be magnetized and switches which may be open or closed .
Digital computers are designe in this way for two reasons.Firstly it is much easier and cheaper to construct two-state.secondly,communication between two state devices is very reliable because only two different signals 0 or 1(on or off),need to be recognized.
