MICRODEMS "TWO STEVES" stephen wozniak and stevem jobs- were dirctly responsible for making microcomputers more accessible when they designed the first Apple computer in jobs parents Gargage.The Applw I was on of the first microc computers to combine important components such as memmory,intellegence input and output on a single circuit board,its enthusiastic reception at the Homebrew computer club,a hobyst club ,ain the sanfransico Bay upgrade the Apple I to the Apple II and to enter the micro computers business.The result was Apple computer Inc.. which has become one of the most successful micro computers companies,with revenues in excess of $1000 million per year.
The Apple II and its competators ,the commodore PET and the Radio shack TRS-80,wee much easier to use than the Altair 8800.These machines came with type writer-style keyboards and video displays which repalced the rows of lights and toggle switch type is now models.They also came with BASIC computer language built in;you could use i the instant your turned on the machine.To use BASIC on an Altair you first had tost toggle switches on the front reader(many early microcimputers memory from a paper tape machines).The whole process of simply getting to BASIC took 20 minutes an one hour.
