The earlier microcomputer user were commonly known as "computer" hobbysts"Many of them were engineers or programmers who built computers in their spare time>Thei fascination wiht hte computers was such that they really diddn't mind the fact that thei microcomputers.Once built,were virtually useless.
The first generally available microcomputers kit to appear on the Altair 8800,featured on the January 1975cover of popular Electronics magazine.It was the braunchild of retired Air Force Encgineer Ed Roberts,Who owned a tiny company named MITS in Albuquerque,New Mexico)
Omeof the early microcomputers owners used their expertise to devolop products that propelied the micro computer from the hobbyst market to the consumer,eloctronic and small buisiness markets.
